First Round in Mr. Douglas’s room
On this gray and drizzly morning, following a word of prayer, Colorado, Virginia, and New Jersey begin the morning with quiz 2. Mr. Douglas is the quiz master, Mr. Wood is the scorekeeper and Elizabeth a BJU junior is the judge.

Quizzer 4 from VA jumps and makes an error on question 4, which toss up is then answered correctly by quizzer 4 from CO. Question 5 is a reference question answered correctly by quizzer 3 from VA. The score is 80-20-0.  Quizzer 3 from CO jumps for a quote on question 6 and gets it correct. VA quizzer 2 gets Q7 corrects, followed by an error from VA quizzer 3. The toss up is answered correctly by CO quizzer 1. Quizzer 3 from CO correctly quotes a verse for 20 pts. Quizzer 4 from VA jumps and errors, and quizzer 1 from CO correctly answers the toss up. Q 12 is answered by quizzer 3 from VA putting the score at 180-60-0. CO Quizzer 4 gets question 13 and quizzes out! CO quizzer 1 gets question 14 correct. CO quizzer 4^2, jumps and errors, then VA quizzer 2 grabs the toss up. However, it is challenged by CO quizzer 1 and the challenge is accepted, resulting in an error on VA and a free for NJ who does not answer correctly. VA quizzer 1 get the next question correct leaving the score after 15 questions at 220, 70, 0. VA quizzer 2 jumps but runs out of time on q 16. And NJ gets the toss up. 17 is answered correctly by VA quizzer 1, followed by an error for CO. VA quizzer 4 jumps for the toss up and after some deliberation by the officials is accepted. CO quizzer 1 wins the jump on q 19 and gains 20 points. Question 20 is answered correctly by VA quizzer 3. The final score is CO 230- VA 100 – NJ 20.
