Hello Bible Quiz Fans,
Yesterday afternoon, the Southeast Bible Quiz Association held their October quiz meet of the year. The event took place at the Temple Baptist Academy campus in Powell, TN. It turned out to be a very exciting event. The field of teams included a team from Grace Christian Academy, Lakeview Baptist from Rhea County, Temple Baptist and two teams from Ridgeview Baptist in Walland, TN. Temple Baptist had a team with only two quizzers this month so we made a slight rule change. The quizzers were allowed to get 6 correct answers to quiz out and 6 errors to error out. This month we had five rounds of quizzing so that every team could face every other team in the competition in a two team quiz match. We felt that this was the best way to determine the winner of the competition.
In the first round, Temple Baptist got off to an early 120 to 40 point lead over Grace Christian Academy by question 8. At that point, Grace Christian got on a role and trimmed that lead down to 160 for Temple and 130 for Grace Christian by question 15. On question 16, Easton Jones got a correct rebound answer and then on question 18 Kierstin Balka sealed the win with a correct answer. In the other quiz room, Ridgeview 1 rolled to a powerful 330 to 60 point win over Lakeview Baptist. As the competition proceeded through the five rounds, it became clear that the Ridgeview teams were well prepared and hungry to win. They have clearly elevated the level of competition in the SBQA. In rounds 2-4 the Ridgeview teams scored at least 300 points in every quiz match except for one quiz match between Temple Diligence and Ridgeview 1 in Round 3. In that round, the coaching of Grant Balka kept things close. The score was tied after question 10, but Blake Brewster from Ridgeview 1 then got on a roll. However, Kierstin Balka from Temple Diligence then got on a roll. On question 19, Brady Brewster from Ridgeview 1 was able to win the initial jump and secure a close 210 to 170 victory over Temple Diligence. At the end of the day, the Team of the Month was decided in Round 5 in a quiz match between Ridgeview 1 and Ridgeview 2. They both entered the quiz match undefeated. Ridgeview 2 got off to a fast 140 to 60 point lead by question 10. At that point, they had correct answers from all five quizzers on their team but the majority of the work was done by Caleb Williams and Benjamin Brewster. Ridgeview 1 fought valiantly to get back in the quiz match with correct answers from all five of their quizzers, but at the end of the quiz match Ridgeview 2 secured a 220 to 150 point victory and was awarded the Team of the Month trophy.
There were seven different quizzers that quizzed out forward with six correct answers in a single quiz match and won a Quiz Out Achievement Ribbon. They are as follows:

The Quizzer of the Month award was hotly contested this month, however one quizzer rose above the others and quizzed out with 23 correct and only 2 errors. That was Benjamin Brewster from Ridgeview 2 and he was awarded the Quizzer of the month medal.
I am attaching the team results and individual results for your review. It is very encouraging to see the time that these quizzers and their parents have invested in God’s Word, and it is exciting to think about the way God will use it in their lives in the years to come.
