Quiz 3 w/Dr. Knapp: Georgia vs Tennessee vs Illionis (sp?) IL got the high-win last quiz, so I guess they're the favorite? I don't really know how good either IL or TN are; guess we'll find out. Oh, apparently TN does have a loss. Looks like this is an elimination round then. Indiana has already been eliminated BTW. Q1: Error for TN, IL gets the rebound. Q2: Error for GA, TN gets the rebound. Q3: GA gets on the board and we're all tied up! Q4: Gasp! GA takes the lead with 40. Q5: IL answers a question very quickly and correctly, but we have the first challenge for Knapp by GA and it's accepted so the answer is thrown out. I really wish I heard the challenge but we have some low talkers in here so I'm worthless. On question 5 again, GA gets their second error and IL gets back the points they lost on the tossup. Q6: Another right for IL. Score after 6: GA 40, TN 20, IL 60. Q7: IL misses their first and GA gets the rebound to tie with IL. Q8: Error for GA puts them in the error zone, and IL pulls away with 20 more. Q9: However, GA gets 20 more to make it interesting. Q10: An error for TN, and GA gets the rebound. IL challenges, again, more low-talkers, sorry, and is accepted so back to 80 for GA. On the redo IL misses their second and GA misses their 4th, so they're knocked back to 70. Still, nice to see life in this GA squad, especially after a tough loss in this room last quiz. TN misses the free and IL calls for a timeout. Score in the middle of Q10: GA 70, TN 20, IL 80. Q10...again: Finish this verse: GA jumps and nails it to get the lead. Knapp celebrates the passing of Question 10 and calls for an applause. Q11: Third error for IL, 5th for GA, and TN gets another chance for a free and gets it. On the redo, we have a quote that GA jumped too soon on, and IL gets the rebound to take a 30 point swing. Time out for GA. TN is 40 points back from GA and are only in it because of the GA errors. If you get into error trouble early, a slower pace is called for and sometimes its best if you let the other teams catch you in errors. Q12: 20 for GA to get within 10 on IL. Q13: Error for GA and noone gets the seemingly easy rebound. GA gets the redo and is now tied with IL. Q14: IL errors, GA errors, and TN gets a free. TN is 50 points away from both GA and IL with 120 points left to gain and an infinite number to lose. Another error (can we get a error check?) for GA, and then for IL, and TN again gets the free. They are 30 points away from the other two teams. GA finally gets the redo. Q15: Error for IL and now they're 20 ahead of TN. GA gets the tossup. Score after 15: GA 120 TN 50 IL 70 Q16: "Error" zone: Error for GA, and TN gets the rebound to tie with IL! IL challenges TMI and for the first time today, and this quiz, the challenge is overruled. TN is holding on somehow. Q17: Correct answer for GA. Q18: An incorrect answer for IL to put them 10 below TN. GA gets the rebound to get the high. Q19: Knapp gets IL an error for flashing lights, and TN gets the tossup to claim the middle. IL tries yet another challenge (4th in the quiz, and 3rd by IL) but it's overruled. Final Score: GA 170, TN 90, IL 40 Despite IL outscoring TN, the difference was errors. 9 errors for IL, only 1 for TN. And lets remember, TN didn't do anything for the first 2/3rds, but they let the other two teams error their way down to Tennessee's level. Error management FTW.
