After being a judge for the first rounds before lunch, I have been promoted to writer. In Mr. Douglas' room after lunch we have Colorado, New York and Illinos. I haven't seen NY and Il yet but Co looked very strong this morning. But then at this point, all the teams are stong or they would have been eliminated before chapel. As we start the quiz, Co jumps out to a quick 40 point lead. But on question 3 Ill gets it for 20 points. Co comes back and takes question 4 And NY gets Q5 the score is Ill 20 Co 60 and Ny 20 NY gets a quote on Q6 and Co gets a Finish on Q7 NY gets Q8 and Co finally has an error with NY getting the tossup Ill errors on Qoute but Co gets the tossup. After 10 questions its Ill 20 Co 100 and NY 80 Co gets Q11 Ill gets Q12 NY gets Q13 14 questions in we have our first foul of the quiz Co gets an error and Ny correctly answers the tossup. NY and Co are staying very close together, Ill calls a timeout before the quiz gets away from them. After 15 questions the score is Ill 40, Co 140 and NY 120 A finish for Q16 and Ny gets it correct to tie it up again. Co is called for time again to take an error and NY gets the tossup Q18's jump is won by Ill and they get it correct. Co get Q19 and NY calls timeout to discuss the situation. so with one question remaining its Il 60 Co 150 and NY 160 Co wins the jump on Q20 but Mr. Douglas has to check the answer. Its correct. so co gets the High, NY gets the middle and Ill takes their first low I beleive we sets a couple of records here. THis has to be one of the fastest quiz at National, we were finished in just over 10 minutes with only four errors. This is the first quiz I can remember in years that a New York team did not have a single error.
