Quiz 8 MO vs. KY vs. GA After a crazy part of determining who was supposed to be in the room (learn to read a schedule, Colorado), we began. Kentucky has the history of being the best of these teams. They had three different people answer questions in the first seven questions, and they had 100 points after the same question 7. After question 7: Kentucky 100, Missouri 40, Georgia 10. Missouri and Kentucky then took turns making errors through the next set of questions. Through the next four questions, both lost points on errors and Georgia was able to earn 20 additional points. It looked as if Kentucky might run away with the quiz and Missouri and Georgia would be left to fend for a middle win. Kentucky had shown its early dominance and it looked like it might hold. After question 11: Kentucky 130, Missouri 50, Georgia 30 Then something extraordinary happened. Missouri chair 2 got the next four questions and in the middle of that string when the other teams tried to beat her up, they both missed it and she was able to get a free question. This totally changed the complexion of the quiz. After question 15: Missouri 140, Kentucky 120, Georgia 30 As we entered the error zone, the quiz now looked like a bitter fight for the high win instead of two teams fighting to survive. The last five questions played like a quiz with little intensity. Dr. West, as quizmaster, was in a chipper mood and the teams seemed to follow suit. They quizzed care free and each team made one error and got at least one correct. Kentucky had pulled even by getting question 19, and while it could have been a nail biter, it seemed as if neither team was very worried about who would get the high win. The question was something about what Rabbi means in John 1, which Missouri 5 got correct, and Missouri pulled out what seemed to be an improbable win just a few questions earlier. Georgia was congratulated for winning state (two years in a row), and they said that they felt better prepared than last year and hoped to continue in that winning trajectory. Final Score: Missouri 170, Kentucky 150, Georgia 40
