At the start of AACS, the 8am bell of Bob Jones University signals more than just the start of a regular school day, it also marks the start of the National Bible Quizzing Competition. With Quizmaster Craig Scott from Woodside Baptist Church from Colorado and Scorekeeper Liz from Calvary Baptist in Simpsonville, South Carolina, the first ten minutes of competition set the pace for the day's event. Virginia, Michigan and New York are represented here, 3 of the XXX teams represented today. Six questions in, the score is Virginia 40, Michigan 0, New York 60, Virginia and New York with 2 errors apiece. Catherine, Allison, Mercy, Rebekah, Joella represent New York through Heritage Mission, who placed 4th in the SCQANIT yesterday. At the halfway point in the quiz, the Score is now Virginia 40, Michigan 30, New York 120, with Virginia and New York in the Error zone. Mercy Quizzes out at question #12, to the applause of the audience and teams present, with 7 correct and 1 Error, being replaced by Sam. They've secured First place by the 15th question, with a successful appeal by Sam, the possibly the first of the day, with two other rooms in competition at the same time. Entering question 16, the score has progressed to Virginia 40, Michigan 60, New York 180. Answering the Question correctly, New York is instructed by one of their coaches to sit, as Virginia gets and Error and Michigan gets back into the middle with a toss-up. A final Scorescheck at question 20 puts Virginia at 70, Michigan at 60 and New York sitting strong at 200. Laura Higgins jumps for the final question, as Mica Vega, Kelsey Wilson, Katlin Dorsey, Kimberly shade, Jimmy Carver, Ellie Sexton, and Adrienne Orozco as her team from Virginia sit in silence. With a correct, Virginia seals a middle win.
