Tennessee-Colorado-Alabama It isn't often that this late in the day, you get a quiz with three teams without a loss, but that is exactly what we have. Tennessee is very fast and stood up first on each of the first four questions. While they missed one, they sped up the quiz to the point where on question 4, both of the other teams got up too early, thereby giving them a free question. This warning to the other teams fell right into Tennessee's lap, as they were able to get up first on a quote. Both Tennessee and Colorado missed the quote. Now, the question is whether we have more faith in Dr. Knapp's card or Cullen AND Rebekah. After the free question, Erin got an impressive initial jump to catapult Colorado. On question five, Ariana missed a 50-50 for Tennessee and Alabama got the tossup. After 5 questions, the score is 50-40-30 Cullen got on a good quizzer roll (not the new sushi, but what I call a good quizzer getting several questions in a row) in questions 6-8. Rebekah made a challenge that she immediately withdrew. I feel she did it to break Cullen's rhythm. However, it didn't work, as he got question 9. So, Colorado called a timeout. We'll see if that works. Of course, when a good quizzer like Cullen has that many correct, I say the easier way is just to wait until he gets six questions and let him quiz out naturally. But, that's why I am not a coach and Pastor Jono Scott is. Strategy worked well, as Rebekah gets the next two questions and is starting a good quizzer roll of her own. Her second answer is thrown out and we restart question 11. After 10 questions, the score is 140-60-30. Error on Colorado, losing 10. Two questions by Ariana from Tennessee and we realize why this team is the runaway favorite for the #1 ranking in the country. Cullen quizzes out and Ariana gets another. Wow! A colorado quizzer leaves with a stomach ache and Rebekah gets another question. After 15 questions, the score is 220-70-20 Question 16 and 17 work out perfectly for Colorado (other than a foul for an improper jump). Errors by both of the other teams and tossups for them. Now, with the placement solved, everyone seems to be taking it easy. Tennessee gets 18, Alabama gets 19, and Ariana (TN) gets up on 20 in a last-ditch effort to quiz out. She misses and David (CO) takes his shot at getting the tricky question. He misses also, insuring Ariana (TN) one more shot at quizzing out. Alabama discusses the free question and opts to answer it correctly. Dr. Knapp decides a "Quote This Verse" is his best shot at ending the quiz, Ariana (TN) obliges him by answering it, quizzing out, and generally ending the quiz that had no suspense at the end. After 20 questions, the score ended 230-100-40.
