GA-CO-VA This Quiz is interesting because each team has a different number of quizzers: CO has 3, GA has 4, and VA has 5 plus subs. GA has a low coming in, so they are on high alert to try not to get out. We start the quiz on question 1 with a tied score; CO gets the first right, as well as the second. VA comes back with a correct on 3, but CO is determined to stay ahead: they get 4 right. GA comes into the competition with a correct on 5. Score after 5: 20-60-20 Ben (CO) gets 6 correct. VA jumps on 7 with “Who said, in-” as their info; they can’t pull it out on that little though, so Ben scoops up the rebound. Mark (CO) gets the quote on 8 correct. CO makes an error on 9; GA tries for the rebound and gets it wrong, so a free goes to VA, and they get it right. On 9 repeated, VA jumps and is ruled incorrect because of incomplete info, but they challenge and get the points. Ben (CO) gets 10 correct, quizzing out with a perfect 6. Great job! Score after 10: 20-140-50; it’s still anybody’s game! VA jumps on a quote, but is incorrect; the rebound is not answered, so we go to 11 repeated. VA comes back with a correct on this one and on 12, and continues their roll by getting 13 correct. 14 is a quote, and VA stands up, but time is called before she answers. The rebound is not answered, but on 14 repeated, VA gets another correct; 15 is another correct for VA- they are really doing well and showing good teamwork! Score after 15: 20-140-150 CO jumps on 16 and is ruled incorrect, so VA jumps for the rebound, but is also incorrect. GA is given a free question, but cannot think of the answer. On 16 repeated, VA jumps, but is incorrect; GA tries for the rebound, but is also incorrect. CO gets a free, but answer incorrectly. However, they come back with a correct on 16 repeated, and also 17. We go into question 18, and VA gets the initial correct, as well as the finish the verse on 19. VA and CO are tied at 170 going into 20, but VA pulls out the high with a correct initial on 20. Final score- GA:10, CO:170, VA:190 This is GA’s second low, so they are out of this tournament, but we hope to see them next year!
