NC-NY-VA We are now to the fourth round of quizzing in Pastor Scott’s room. He starts with a challenge to the quizzers about why they were involved in Bible quiz- a great question for any quizzer or coach. Allison from NY gave a great answer from “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” (II Timothy 2:15) I hope that that is every quizzers desire, to prepare themselves for the future God has for them. We start this quiz with question 1 (always a good idea), and Allison (NY) jumps up on the initial and is correct. On question 2, Sam stands up and is also correct. Question 3 is a quote this verse question, but no one answers it, so Pastor Scott turns it into a finish and Mercy (NY) gets it right; she also gets 4 correct. Sam (NY) stands up on 5 and is also correct; NY has a really strong start! Score after 5: 0-100-0 NY continues their lead with another correct on 6. VA comes into the quiz with a correct initial on 7; NY finishes a verse for a correct on 8. NC tries on 9, but is incorrect; NY gets the toss-up. VA stands up on 10, and is ruled correct; NC challenges that she gave wrong information, but is denied. Score after 10: 0-160-40 Mercy gets 11 correct; 12 is a quote, but no one jumps so it is again turned into a finish. NC tries, but is incorrect. No one else answers, so we go to 12 repeated. Mercy again stands up, and is ruled incorrect; VA gets the toss-up, but NC challenges that she wasn’t specific enough, and is denied, so the points for VA stands. VA tries for the initial on 13, but is incorrect; Mercy gets the toss-up and thereby quizzes out. Great job! NC tries on 14 but is incorrect, and NY gets the toss-up. On 15, NC gets the initial jump, but is ruled incorrect; however the question was thrown out by the quizmaster, removing the error. We go to 15 again, and VA gets it right. Score after 15: 0-220-70 On 16, VA stands up and gets it right. 17 is a quote, and VA jumps but is incorrect; NC accidentally jumps on the toss-up and does not know it; NY gets a free, but is ruled incorrect. NC calls a timeout to put in a sub, and we go to 17 repeated. NC tries on the initial, but is ruled incorrect, so VA scoops up the toss-up. NY and VA both miss on 18, so the free goes to NC, but they are incorrect. We are now at 18 repeated, and NC tries on the initial, but is incorrect, so NY picks up the toss-up. Question 19 goes to VA, and they finish strong with another correct on 20. The final score is- NC:-30, NY:230, VA:130 This is NC’s second low, so they are out of this tournament, but we hope to see them next year!
