TN-KY-FL
Welcome to David Douglas’s room, where we are about to have a very intense quiz! KY and TN do not have a low, but FL does, so they could potentially be out if they get the low this round, but… we shall see! Let the quiz begin!
TN jumps on 1, and gets it right. Ashley (KY) tries for 2, but does not get it right; Cullen (TN) scoops up the toss-up, and gets 3 correct as well. Isaac (KY) tries on question 4, but is incorrect, and Cat (FL) gets the toss-up. Isaac tries again on 5, but again runs out of time; Will (FL) gets 20 points for his team on the toss-up.
The score after 5: 0-60-40
On question 6, Grant (TN) jumps on the initial; after deliberating his answer and the question, the quizmaster throws the question out. Arianna (TN) jumps on 6 again, and gets it wrong, so Sarah (FL) picks up the toss-up for her team. Ashley (KY) jumps on 7, and is incorrect, as is Cat when she tries for the toss-up. TN picks up 10 points on their free, and a timeout is called before 7 repeated. This time it is Ashley again who jumps, and time is called before she can answer; Arianna guesses the right one in a 50-50 on the toss-up. Cullen (TN) jumps too early on 8 (a finish), but Cat scoops up the toss-up after getting more information. Isaac (KY) gets 9 correct, bringing his team out of the negative zone. Cullen jumps on 10 and is ruled incorrect, so Ashley tries for the toss-up and is ruled correct; Cullen challenges that his was right, but is denied.

Cat (FL) jumps on question 11 and gets the 20 points for her team. Then, Arianna (TN) jumps too early on 12, so Cat picks up the toss-up for FL. Ashley gets 13 for KY, and TN calls a timeout. On question 14, it’s Cat’s turn to jump too early, but Ashley picks up the toss-up when she gets more information. Arianna gets the initial on 15.
The score after 15: 60-100-120
Ashley (KY) tries for a finish this verse on 16, but misses it, as does Cullen when he tries for the toss-up; FL gets their 10 points on the free. Cullen and Cat both miss question 16 repeated on the initial and toss-up respectively; KY gets their free and Ashley gets 16 repeated for her team. Cullen misses the initial on 17, but Isaac gets it for KY. Arianna gets 18 for TN, and Ashley gets up on 19 but can’t finish the 3 verses in time; Cat correctly finishes them to put FL at 140. We are down to the final question and it is a battle between TN and KY, who are tied at 90. The heat has been turned up! Question 20. Arianna has jumped and she is ruled… correct! This is KY’s first low, though, so they are still in this tournament. Great job to all teams!
