We started with an announcement that if New york lost, we'd have one more quiz today. The other two teams seemed to be motivated by that and New York got the first two questions. By question three they were into it, and both gave it a shot (Tennessee on the initial and Florida on the tossup) on both of the next two questions. Unfortunately, three of the four answers were incorrect and it did little to hurt New York's position. New york solidified their position as the dominators of the first five questions. After Five Questions Tennessee 40 - New York 70 - Florida 20 Cullen seemed to have new life on question 6 and he got two in row, wrecking the rhythm New York had. In an effort to gain it back, New York got up at a time that seemed to be way too early. However, it's not too early when you get it right. Cat decided she could not let Florida get beehind and got question 9, but Cullen finished this set of five questions the way he started it (he got one correct). After Ten Questions Tennessee 80 - New York 90 - Florida 40 Not detered by my artificial 5 question break, Cullen got question 11 and mandated that Florida call a timeout. In the timeout, there were three distinct attitudes and sets of emotions. Tennessee and Florida both felt the stress to get up early, but all that did was give New York a free question, where they inched forward in their quest to end Tuesday quizzing. Cullen continued his roll. Question 14 was all kinds of weird, but after challenges, it ended with a Tennessee error and a Florida correct. New York wrapped up this five question set with a correct answer. After Fifteen Questions Tennessee 110 - New York 120 - Florida 80 New York got an error and Cullen quizzed out. He may have waited until question 6 to try, but he was unstoppable once he did. This led to a timeout, where each team discussed the things that would make it succeed. As we listen to those strategies. Florida's pep talk seemed the best, as they got question #17, but Mercy finally quizzed out on question 18. Another tiemout was called and Tennessee and New York have a 30 point lead on Florida with two questions remaining. This is a great quiz! Cat missed question 19, thereby effectively eliminating them. Sam got the tossup, but at this point it's just high/middle formailty. I hear New York talking "bye" on Thursday, so they may care more at this point. Despite the rumblings from their bench, Tennessee got question 20. After Twenty Questions Tennessee 150 - New York 150 - Florida 90 Ariana got up on the tiebreaker, but she missed it. New York got the tossup and decided to let Mercy's sub get it. Final Score Tennessee 140 - New York 170 - Florida 90
