Dr. Knapp South Carolina- Colorado- Pennsylvania Dr. Knapp starts things off with a soliloquy on how the amount of people on a team makes no difference to success. Colorado is the chief example followed by PA. Speaking of which, CO takes an early lead. We’ll see whether South Carolina can come off their loss. Florida did it late in the last game as they are characteristically known for doing. Pennsylvania may have the hardest time this quiz, as their quizzers aren’t always as dynamic as these other two teams. Still it remains to be seen how the cards will be played. After 3 questions, every team has an initial jump and received the points for it. It’s 20 all around. Again with the two verse quoting, this time PA gets it right on the initial. They are trying to break up the trend it appears. With a second straight jump, PA is taking the lead early. Here ate question 8, SC seems glued to their seats, but wait, there is challenge made from them against Woodside’s freshly acquired points. Will they get the challenge or was this just a means to cool off the chair that had been so warm up until this point? We’ll find out after a long commercial break for discussion. Challenge overruled. SC 20- Co 60- PA 80. Woodside again jumps into the fray, getting 2 while PA gets 1. CO has clearly chugged along at a steady pace today. Still, their answer is challenged by Boogie, who eloquently talk the quizmaster into accepting. Though the challenge was challenged by Dani, her eloquence proves to be inadequate to dissuade Boogie. South Carolina is looking to speedily dig out their hole but the reality is that the dominant team has only 3 jumps on record. PA calls a timeout to discuss their position at 130. It’s a pretty nice place to be. Dani gets the next question, but it seems that her information was not taken for extra time, eventually resulting in a free to SC. SC 30- CO 70- PA 150 Pennsylvania has secured the mid, a great place for them as they already possess a low. Again this has been a relatively clean quiz with 8 errors by question 14. Colorado has seemed to take a bit of a tumble, their last four jumps being errors though it seems fairly uncertain as to whether SC can capitalize on these. Still, with another error and a SC tossup, they are tied. SC 50- CO 50- PA 190 Charity has now quizzed out and it appears a timeout is called to tell the team to sit. Now it’s a shootout between CO and SC. Woodside continues the error trend, leaving SC in the position they wanted. Colorado now has to get both of the last 2. This does not happen however, as they get 19 incorrect, but so does SC. So it’s still anyone’s ballgame. If we were using a ball that is. Still, with 19 going to SC, Colorado has officially gotten their first low. Final is SC 100- CO 50- PA 220 Hopefully they can bounce back.
