Okay. Did anybody really ever do serious studying at Nationals?? Did everybody spend their time as unwisely as I did….playing basketball, chatting w/ friends, eating at the Snack Shop, walking on the grass, etc.? Just wondering cause my study time was like horrid during that week. lol

I studied quite a bit that week, but this was my last year so I had some extra motivation. Looking back, I wish I had studied more, but whats done is done.

I tried studying, but the more I tried the more I couldn't remember anything. So I quit.

Unfortunately, I had the same problem. The only time that I REALLY studied
was Thursday, with one of my friends, right before The Nationals finals.

Really, there's not a whole lot you can do the last week. I'd say 95% of my errors were not because I didn't know my verses, but because I made a dumb jump or just guessed wrong. The thing to do is study hard the months before, and then you don't have to cram like I always did.

When I went to Nationals I never studied. (which doesn't sound very good, given the fact that we've never won) Every year - except my freshman year when Heather MADE me - I closed the books on Sunday night and didn't open them again. Like Luke said, at that point there's not much you can do…as long as you've studied your eyeballs out all year and know the text backwards and forwards. My errors were either stupid jumps or incorrect guesses, but mostly bad rulings by quizmasters .
Anyway…if we made it through Tuesday without being eliminated, I would seriously not think about quizzing for one single second until Thursday. (again, not that we won or anything with this particular routine) But I think it really helps to chill out and forget about quizzing for a while during the week. If you have other competitions it helps, cuz then you get freaked out about those. Wednesdays were always the best…I got to hang out with friends from 5 or 6 states, eat at the snackshop, watch random competitions…yep, it was fun.
Now I'm sad that I wasn't there this year.
