New York - Kentucky - Illinois The first quiz after lunch in Mr. Zacharias's room. New York and Kentucky are both teams we expect to be in the finals. Illinois is not. Zacharias is known as a kind quizmaster, but challenging the first question after lunch seems a bit excessive. It seems we all need to be on our game right away. The epitome of being on her game right away is Humility, who came out and got six of the first eight questions. Essentially reducing KY and IL into fighting for the middle win. Score after 8 questions NY 120, KY 30, IL 20 Getting to the halfway point took very little, as Humility's dominance stretched to question number 8. Joe and Jesse both get a question and now we are halfway through. IL calls a timeout for a chance to breathe and realize that, despite their frustration, they still are in a good position to get a middle win. Score after 10 questions NY 140, KY 50, IL 20 That timeout did not help IL, but rather Jesse from KY got four of the next six questions to quiz out and secure the middle win in this quiz. In a perfect Bible Quiz, you have drama coming down the stretch with multiple timeouts as teams attempt to strategize what is most important. This quiz has little. Score after 16 questions NY 180, KY 130, IL 20 The only faint drama that remained was whether KY could catch NY for the high win, and question 17 took that away as Joe got it. So now it is just an opportunity to play out the string and see who will get it. Illinois gets up first on each of the last three questions. They did miss one of them, but the quiz is over, and we are not mercifully finished talking about Quiz 18. Final Score - NY 200, KY 150, IL 50
