Having already taken all of my available vacation time for this year (with a good reason, I might add), I find myself ready to jump back into the swing of things in the spirit of Thanksgiving.
My good reason for the extended break over the last few weeks is the birth of my third child, Zachary Stephen Zyhaus (Zach). My wife Melissa and I have been so blessed with the birth of our 2nd son. Even though it seems like his favorite pastime is crying, he is still the greatest blessing that anyone can ever have.
Now for a few thanksgivings on Bible Quiz:
I am thankful for Bible Quiz itself.
I am thankful for the opportunity that kids all over the country (eventually, one day, my kids will have) to memorize the Word of God.
I am thankful for great men and women of God who gladly sacrifice their time to support our youth who participate.
I am thankful for tournament directors who also sacrifice their time as well as usually their own money to provide an enjoyable time to quizzers.
I am thankful for David and Brant for coming up with this website to give me a constructive way to spend my spare time and further encourage the memorization of the Scripture.
I am thankful for great quizzers who memorize giant portions of the Bible and impress us all.
I am thankful for bad quizzers who try their best and learn more of the Bible than most of the rest of Christendom could ever dream of.
I am thankful for parents who encourage their children to live Godly lives.
Most importantly, I am thankful for a Savior who has called us unto salvation and given us a tongue with which we can proclaim our thanksgiving.
