Matt,
I just listened to your podcast. I wept with joy! WOW! HOMERUN! YES,YES, YES!
What you said is the essence of what God wants for Bible quizzing. It is the fellowship, the encouragement of the believers around memorizing God’s Word in Bible quizzing. These “Bible quizzing retreats” ARE the future of tremendous blessing and growth in Bible Quizzing!! Keep beating this drum, brother!!

Listened to the whole thing already? That is an accomplishment. I was behind the curve, but when God hits me over the head enough, I eventually catch on. These retreats are awesome! If you couldn’t tell by listening, I am excited about them!
Inspiring! A lot of times it’s easy to get caught up in the competition and even to start disliking your opponents because they’re beating you to the jump. We need to be careful to keep focused on Christ and try to emulate Him. 🙂
Great Podcast and with Dr. Borkert I give a hearty Amen as well.
One practical reality to be considered is the cost involved. We much enjoyed the Kentuckiana retreat for all the reasons you noted and can’t think of a better place and atmosphere than Camp Joy. However, the cost at the camps per person is equal to or more than the cost of an entire team even in Colorado. If we didn’t live down the road the cost of even two of these tournaments would have been prohibitive for us. Something to think about as we go from here.
