Our recent CQA tournament was a remarkable event filled with inspiring stories, challenges overcome, and incredible achievements by our quizzers and coaches. Before the tournament, I took it upon myself to visit various churches and teams that needed a little extra encouragement to boost their scripture memorization efforts. One of my memorable trips was to Babessi in the northwest region of Cameroon. What a journey that was! Imagine 11 people crammed into a car built for 5 people to fit in! This trip took a turn when we got a flat tire, and eventually the car broke down, leaving me stranded in the middle of nowhere. But despite these difficulties, the Lord helped me to pressed on, and my visit helped a primary school team in Babessi gear up for the tournament and succeed in memorizing a huge portion of the Scriptures.

After our end-of-year tournament in December, we had high hopes for 23 teams and around 120 quizzers preparing for the next quiz. To our delight, nearly 90 quizzers showed up, transforming our aspirations into a beautiful reality! The impact of the Bible quizzing ministry on the youth of Cameroon has been truly uplifting! One coach, Elizabeth Needham, shared how some of her quizzers, who previously struggled with reading, can now read fluently—what a testimony! Another quizzer recounted how memorizing passages from the book of Matthew saved him from being dismissed from school. Many others have shared several testimonies of the quizzing ministry in Cameroon. It's heartening to see quizzing foster not just biblical and academic knowledge but also lasting friendships and spiritual strength among our fundamental baptist youth in Cameroon.

I was blessed to have eight incredible individuals volunteering as scorekeepers and quiz masters, alongside two faithful cooks and a pastor who delivered an edifying biblical message on the first day of the tournament. The competition this month was thrilling and slightly different! The Victory Blue Eagles took home the top prize, followed by Faith Bamenda in second place and GCBC Powerful in third for the tournament. During this April tournament, a new rule was set, allowing only quizzers ages 13 and under to answer questions from the first two chapters of Hebrews during the preliminary rounds, ensuring they had a more opportunity to have fun in the quiz.
The excitement was incredible! Many quizzers shed tears when their teams were eliminated, yet it was heartwarming to watch them cheer for one another—a testament to the unity created in this quiz ministry. Each of the 15 teams showed remarkable skills and dedication, and we celebrated the achievements of those who walked away with trophies!

However, we did face challenges. Transporting quizzers to their overnight accommodations is particularly tough, especially since tournaments often wrap up late at night, making it a struggle to find taxis. Additionally, our quiz venue is small, leaving little room for movement and comfort for participants and spectators. That said, we are looking forward to overcoming these challenges and would greatly appreciate your prayers for God’s provision of a vehicle for our ministry and a larger space for future quizzes.
I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to Micah Folkers and all those who help us financially for their great support in making our quizzing events a success. The quizzers have tremendous affection for Micah and awaits his return in future tournaments. Thank you for taking the time to read our updates! Please keep the Cameroon Quizzing Association in your prayers as we gear up for the next quiz on July 17 and 18, covering chapters 1 through 10 of Hebrews. I’m also excited about my upcoming trip to Nigeria for the NQA tournament from April 22 to 24. Until then, may the Lord bless you abundantly!
